How can you achieve better coverage with mineral foundation? How can you make powder creamier, blend better with the skin, and create a luminous, slightly dewy finish? And finally, how can you extend its wear while minimizing the need for touch-ups? These and similar questions are often asked by both new mineral users and those who have been using them for some time but are still looking for new, better solutions. We hope the following collection of tips will help you achieve the best results for your skin.
How to get better coverage with mineral foundation?
Different mineral foundation formulas offer varying levels of coverage. Comparing the Annabelle Minerals illuminating formula to a full-coverage formula, we'll notice that they have lighter and heavier pigmentation. However, coverage levels depend not only on the cosmetic ingredients but also on the application method and accessories used. The following tips can help you achieve better coverage, even if you've chosen a foundation with a formula other than full-coverage. So how can you achieve fuller coverage with a mineral foundation?
- Use a flat-top brush or a sponge - a flat-top brush and the Softie Annabelle Minerals sponge have a wider application surface; this allows you to apply foundation spot by spot, without any gaps.
- Apply with a stamping motion, pressing the bristles or sponge against your face - stamping allows for maximum concentration of powder on a centimeter of skin.
- Increase the number of layers - for better coverage of discolorations or extensive redness, it is better to use several thin layers rather than one or two thick ones.
- Reach for a formula with higher coverage - if all options fail with a mattifying or illuminating formula, try a full-coverage formula, which you can additionally support with a mineral concealer.
- Mix foundation with concealer – foundation (especially in a full-coverage formula) and concealer should conceal even the most severe imperfections. Mix a small amount of foundation and concealer in a separate jar and apply as needed.

How to increase the coverage of severe discoloration or redness when concealer does not do it fully?
Mineral concealers are generally very well-pigmented cosmetics. Their pigmentation means they are 100% effective in most cases: they conceal redness, spots, and visible imperfections. However, there are situations when we can support the concealer and first apply a pigment that is the color opposite of the discoloration or red spot. Mineral eyeshadows in the right shade come in handy – orange and brown discolorations are neutralized by the light purple Lollipop , while strong redness or large capillaries can be neutralized by foundation or concealer mixed with a touch of the green Mint eyeshadow . How to create such a complex concealing makeup look? Apply the eyeshadow or eyeshadow mixed with foundation or concealer to the desired areas in a thin layer (using a precise brush for minor blemishes, a flat brush, or a tongue brush for larger areas). To the same areas, apply either another layer of concealer in the chosen shade, followed by mineral foundation, or foundation straight away.
How to make mineral foundation blend better into the skin?
Mineral foundation will blend well into your skin if:
- we will choose the right shade,
- we will take care of the skin's hydration - we will remove dry skin with peeling and apply a light moisturizing cream,
- first, we apply a thin layer of mineral base, i.e. Pretty Neutral primer - the base makes the foundation easier to blend and blend with the skin, and the complexion is smoother.
- we will apply very thin layers of foundation - it is better to apply several thin layers than one thick one,
- we will rub it into the skin in a circular motion, not stamp it (press the foundation into the skin),
- Before picking up the powder, slightly dampen the brush or, after applying the foundation to the skin, spray the face with mist (or thermal water).
How to achieve a wet, luminous makeup finish?
Although the loose form of mineral cosmetics indicates a single finish, it doesn't mean you can't achieve a wetter effect. This can be achieved by:
- choosing a foundation with an illuminating formula - this type of foundation has a more delicate coverage than the other two formulas, and when applied in a thin layer, it allows the skin to slightly shine through,
- application with a damp brush or sponge and spraying the face with mist (or thermal water) after applying the foundation - the moisture will make the foundation create a second skin and highlight the shimmering mica contained in the mineral powder, which reflects light and gives the complexion a satin effect,
- application in a rubbing, circular motion - this method of applying the foundation allows you to obtain very thin layers that adhere well to the skin, rubbing also highlights the luminous dust,
- intensely moisturize the skin before applying foundation - the light, moisturizing Soft Cream will give the skin an extra glow, visible from under the foundation,
- Using Pretty Glow Illuminating Powder – Finishing your makeup with Pretty Glow powder will add a touch of elegant illumination. Especially in sunlight or artificial light, your complexion will take on a beautiful glow, looking healthy and rested.

How to extend the durability of mineral foundation?
There are several reasons why mineral foundation may not last long. Here are some tips to prevent your makeup from fading and running quickly:
- choose a light, moisturizing cream under your mineral foundation, avoid heavy, oily cosmetics that are more suitable for nighttime regeneration than daytime care,
- squeeze out excess cream or sebum on a tissue - the skin should not be visibly oily before applying mineral foundation,
- apply a base under the foundation - we recommend the smoothing Primer Pretty Neutral,
- try applying it with a Softie sponge - its unique structure makes mineral makeup more resistant to abrasion and adheres better to the skin,
- try additional hydration with a mist or thermal water right after applying your foundation - a little water will make the powder melt and bind better with your skin, and the skin itself will receive a portion of hydration and start producing sebum slower.
