1. Mineral cosmetics – general information
What are the ingredients of Annabelle Minerals cosmetics?
The ingredients in Annabelle Minerals mineral cosmetics are kept to a minimum. No mineral has been included in our products by accident – each one serves a specific purpose.
In INCI you will find:
- Mica is responsible for the skin's radiance. It gives it a fresh look and visually reduces fine lines.
- Zinc oxide – a mineral with antibacterial properties. It has mattifying and sebum-absorbing properties. It helps normalize sebum secretion and has a soothing effect. It supports regenerative processes. It is especially helpful in combating imperfections.
- Titanium dioxide, which provides coverage and acts as a natural sunscreen, increases the product's SPF. Annabelle Minerals foundations offer sun protection ranging from 10 to 20.
- Iron oxides are minerals responsible for the color of the cosmetic
These are the four basic ingredients we use. They create our foundations, blushes, and concealers. In addition to these, we also use clay, silk, bamboo powder, and ultramarine in our eyeshadows and powders.
Who can use mineral cosmetics?
Mineral cosmetics are exceptionally gentle products designed for all skin types. We especially recommend them for those with problematic, sensitive, and oily skin. Their unique finish and nourishing properties will be appreciated by anyone who values natural ingredients. Annabelle Minerals mineral cosmetics are also a good choice for teenagers just starting to explore makeup – the lightweight formulas are very gentle and improve the condition of young, blemish-prone skin. Does this mean that mineral cosmetics are only suitable for those struggling with skin problems? Absolutely not! Every natural skincare and makeup enthusiast can enjoy the benefits of mineral makeup.
How do mineral cosmetics differ from drugstore cosmetics?
Mineral cosmetics were developed in the United States as a response to the growing interest in aesthetic medicine treatments. They helped women look their best even during convalescence, without potentially irritating skin sensitized by treatments. What distinguishes mineral cosmetics from their traditional counterparts?
Firstly: the composition. It is limited to a few components. They must be
these are ingredients of exclusively natural origin.
Secondly, their skincare benefits. Mineral cosmetics are not just visual enhancers. They also have a positive impact on the skin's appearance. They don't clog pores, have antibacterial and normalizing properties, and support epidermal regeneration processes and protect against the harmful effects of sunlight.
The third distinguishing feature is the consistency and application method. All-mineral cosmetics

or latex-free sponges. This form of cosmetic may seem a bit surprising at first, but after a few tries, you can become a master of it.
Fourth: the colors. The Annabelle Minerals brand offers a wide range of foundation shades, allowing everyone to find their perfect shade.
What are the benefits of using mineral cosmetics?
The benefits of mineral cosmetics primarily include improving the appearance of the skin. Thanks to their lightweight formula, mineral foundations don't clog pores or penetrate the epidermis. They're lightweight and almost imperceptible to wear. They provide good coverage without creating a mask-like effect. Skin can finally breathe under makeup. Thanks to the beneficial mineral ingredients, foundation helps improve skin condition, has antibacterial and mattifying properties, and protects against the harmful effects of sunlight and harsh weather conditions. This is the most natural makeup you can imagine.
Can mineral cosmetics be used during pregnancy?
Mineral cosmetics are a good choice for women who are expecting a baby or breastfeeding. The short, minimal ingredients eliminate the risk of allergies or worsening sensitive skin. Thanks to the antibacterial zinc oxide, mineral foundation supports the skin in its daily fight against imperfections, which can be a real nuisance during pregnancy. This hormonal surge can have two effects: some women will boast radiant, flawless skin, while others will begin to suffer from breakouts and allergies. Furthermore, titanium dioxide, a natural sunscreen, protects sensitive skin from the harmful effects of UV rays.
You can successfully use mineral cosmetics even after your little one arrives. Thanks to their exclusively natural ingredients, they are completely safe for your baby, who can freely touch their mother's makeup.
2. Mineral foundation – functions, formulas, application
How to choose the shade of mineral foundation for your skin?
First of all, you need to answer the following questions:
- Is my skin tone neutral? If you answered yes, choose a foundation from the Pure beige range ;
- Is my skin tone cool, with neither yellow nor pink pigment predominating? If so, choose a foundation from the neutral Natural range ;
- Is my skin tone yellow or olive? If you have a predominance of warm, yellow undertones, choose a foundation in the Golden shade ;
- Does my skin tone lean toward golden, visibly warm tones? If you answered yes, try the lemon-yellow Sunny range .
Once you've found your color palette, you still need to determine the lightness level that's right for you. If you always choose the lightest foundations at drugstores, try the cream, fairest, or fair shades. If your skin is tanned, look for shades labeled sand and light. The darkest foundations are found in the medium and deep shades.
Which mineral foundation formula should I choose?
Choosing the right mineral foundation formula is often one of the keys to success. Match your foundation to your skin type and/or skin concern:
- The mattifying formula is recommended for those with oily and problematic skin. Thanks to the increased zinc oxide content, it provides long-lasting mattification, helps regulate sebum production, and soothes skin blemishes. It also supports epidermal regeneration processes.
- The coverage formula is perfect for those with normal to dry skin. It has a satin finish and high coverage.
- The illuminating formula is the most universal of all available options. Its slightly dry consistency will appeal to all skin types. However, it provides light to medium coverage, so we recommend it especially to those who enjoy a subtle even-toned and brightening effect.
What are the most important features of mineral foundation?
Mineral foundation is a natural cosmetic. Its greatest advantage is its short, limited-to-a-few-ingredients list, which is what makes the product unique. These features minimize the risk of allergies. Therefore, mineral cosmetics are recommended, even by dermatologists, for people with sensitive, problematic, and atopic skin. They are also an ideal solution after cosmetic and aesthetic medicine treatments. The high-coverage properties of mineral foundation allow you to conceal imperfections and skin irritations without causing adverse reactions.
Thanks to their natural INCI, mineral foundations help improve skin condition and allow the skin to breathe freely.
How and with what to apply mineral foundation?
There are quite a few techniques for applying mineral foundation. It's worth testing at least a few to find your favorite. Below is a list of what we consider the most popular:
-
Dry brush application. This is the basic method for applying mineral foundation. You'll need one of the following dedicated brushes: kabuki , flat top , or short top . Each brush provides a different level of coverage: from the softest (kabuki), to thicker (flat top), to fuller (short top). The foundation should be firmly screwed into the brush and applied using circular motions from the inner to outer areas of the face. Remember to gently press the brush against the skin to allow the foundation to adhere properly.
- Applying a foundation wet with a brush. This method increases coverage and gives the foundation a liquid consistency. It's perfect for those who don't like a powdery finish. To apply mineral foundation wet, lightly dampen the brush with hydrolate or thermal water and apply the foundation to the skin with the damp bristles.
- Applying with a makeup sponge. This is a great option for those who prefer a very natural makeup finish. Applying with a sponge allows foundation to blend even better into the skin. Remember to soak the sponge in water before application and keep it hydrated throughout the entire foundation application process.
- Finger application is also possible! If you combine your mineral foundation with your favorite lightweight moisturizer or oil, you'll achieve a fluid consistency that's easy to apply to your skin using just your hands.
How to apply mineral foundation with a sponge?
Applying mineral foundation with a sponge is easy, and the natural effect may surprise you. At Annabelle Minerals, you'll find Softie makeup sponges in three sizes: S, M, and L, and various shapes. The first step is to wet the sponge. Soak the Softie in lukewarm water and squeeze out excess water. Then, place the sponge on a portion of mineral foundation previously poured onto the lid. The product will take on a slightly wet, pleasant consistency. Apply the foundation to your skin with gentle pulling motions, then pat it in with the clean side of the sponge. You can also use the sponge to apply your favorite mineral blush, powder, and concealer.
Does mineral foundation have UV filters?
Annabelle Minerals mineral foundations contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide – two minerals used as physical filters in creams offering UV protection. As a result, they also act as a barrier against harmful solar radiation. Depending on the content of these two minerals, different Annabelle Minerals mineral foundation formulas offer varying levels of UV protection. The illuminating foundations offer 20 SPF, while the mattifying formulas offer 10 SPF. However, remember that we're still talking about physical filters, so the final level of UV protection depends on the amount of product applied. Therefore, we encourage you to use mineral foundation as a supplement, not your primary protection against UVA/UVB rays. Combined with a lightweight emulsion with chemical filters, mineral foundation makes a perfect pair.
Can mineral foundation be used in autumn and winter?
Mineral foundation is an incredibly versatile product that can provide numerous benefits to the skin year-round. During autumn and winter, when skin is exposed to increased exposure to low temperatures and wind, mineral foundation creates an additional protective layer that insulates the skin from unfavorable weather conditions. Furthermore, thanks to its water-free structure, it is completely safe for the skin. It does not penetrate the epidermis and does not cause micro-damage caused by freezing of the water base on which many classic liquid foundations are based. Experts recommend protecting the skin from harmful UV radiation not only in spring and summer, but also in the colder months of the year. Thanks to the content of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, mineral foundation creates a physical UV barrier with an SPF of 10 to 20.
Can mineral foundation dry out the skin?
Mineral foundation has a loose consistency. It doesn't contain any additional moisturizing agents. Therefore, it's crucial to properly prepare your skin before applying makeup. Never forget a moisturizer base. This will help the foundation bond more effectively with the skin and spread more easily. If you have dry skin, you don't have to worry about dryness. Apply mineral foundation mixed with oil or moisturizer, or wet with a brush dampened with a moisturizing mist. Choose gentler foundation formulas, such as illuminating or full-coverage. If you follow these few simple rules, you won't have to worry about drying out your skin with mineral foundation.
3. Mineral cosmetics - useful tips
How to prepare skin for mineral makeup?
Preparing your skin for mineral makeup is a crucial step on the path to beautiful skin. It absolutely shouldn't be skipped! Proper skincare habits will improve your skin's condition, allowing you to afford lighter, less opaque makeup.
Start by thoroughly and systematically cleansing your skin—not only removing all-day dirt and makeup, but also dead skin cells. Thorough makeup removal and regular exfoliation will help your mineral foundation glide on more easily, adhere more firmly to the skin, and minimize dry patches. Remember to cleanse your skin not only in the evening but also in the morning. For this purpose, use gentle cleansing foams, for example.
Don't forget to moisturize your skin. When using mineral foundation, it's crucial to ensure proper hydration. Applying a light moisturizer before makeup will not only have a positive effect on your skin but will also allow your makeup products to blend properly and last longer.
Choose a cream that works with both your skin and your mineral foundation. A cream that's too thick can significantly impede the application of mineral foundation. A base that's too light, however, from gel formulas, can result in poor adhesion and poor makeup durability. Therefore, the best base for mineral foundation is a lightweight moisturizing cream that absorbs completely and doesn't leave a film on the skin.
Choose the right base for your mineral foundation. If your skin is very oily or you'd like your foundation to last much longer, choose the right base for your mineral makeup. This could be the dedicated clay primer from Annabelle Minerals, which absorbs sebum, smooths the skin, and actively conditions it, or another natural mattifying powder that meets your expectations.
How to prolong the matte finish of your skin?
Is your skin prone to oiliness, and you constantly struggle to maintain a matte look with your mineral makeup throughout the day? We've got a few simple tricks that will help you achieve a matte finish that lasts a few extra hours.
Instead of a nourishing cream, use a light moisturizer or—if your skin tends to be very oily—a gel formula as a makeup base. Remember to use a small amount.
Before applying foundation, blot excess moisturizer onto a tissue.
This simple trick will remove any excess makeup that hasn't been absorbed. Unfortunately, applying foundation to oily skin won't work.
Use a mattifying powder before foundation. Before applying mineral foundation, gently but firmly press a natural mattifying powder into your skin. This will create an additional layer of oil and makeup isolation.
After applying foundation, blot any excess moisture from your skin with a dry cotton pad. Then, dust the most mattifying powder over the areas most affected by the makeup.
greasy.
How to finish and set mineral makeup?
Properly finishing mineral makeup allows you to enjoy longer-lasting makeup and a natural look. If you have oily skin, blot excess sebum and moisturizer onto a tissue before applying mineral foundation. This will help the foundation adhere better to the skin and last longer. A tissue will also be useful during the final stage of your makeup application – squeezing excess moisture from the skin helps keep the makeup in check.
You can finish your mineral foundation traditionally – with a mattifying powder.
or illuminating. Use finely milled cosmetics that glide smoothly over the skin and adhere well. Annabelle Minerals offers the mattifying Pretty Matt powder. and the illuminating Pretty Glow . Both help finish makeup and extend its wear.
If you're not a fan of powdered makeup, try a more innovative method. Applying loose powder with a slightly damp sponge can be ideal if the traditional dry brush method emphasizes dry patches or causes a tight feeling. Powder applied wet retains its setting properties without settling on the skin or in its creases.
If your skin is very dry or you prefer a slightly wet finish, you can set your makeup with a moisturizing mist. Besides its moisturizing properties, the mist binds mineral pigments, eliminates dry, powdery finishes, and ensures comfortable wear.
How to apply mineral cosmetics using the wet method?
Applying mineral foundation wet is a great solution for those who don't like a powdery finish or want more coverage from their mineral foundation. As with any other method of applying mineral foundation, skin preparation is crucial. Cosmetics look much better on moisturized, flake-free skin. Therefore, always remember to regularly exfoliate and apply a light moisturizer.
To apply foundation wet, use thermal water or a moisturizing mist. Wet the bristles of your brush with the product and dip them in a small amount of mineral foundation. Then, apply the foundation in circular motions. Start applying the foundation where you need more coverage. Avoid applying too thick a layer of foundation in oilier areas. Use circular, lightly rubbing motions. Remember to blend the foundation thoroughly. After applying the foundation, blot any excess moisture onto a tissue to help the foundation blend beautifully into the skin.
How to conceal dark circles under the eyes with Annabelle Minerals products?
To conceal dark circles under the eyes, use illuminating products from Annabelle Minerals. We especially recommend the mineral illuminating foundations and the mineral eyeshadow in the shade Vanilla . For dark circles in cool, blue, purple, or greenish tones, use the illuminating foundation in the shade Natural Light . For reddish shadows, use the Golden Fair illuminating foundation or the Sunny Fair illuminating foundation .
If your dark circles are particularly intense, opt for a two-step concealer. For cool-toned dark circles, use the Smoothie clay eyeshadow , which has a distinctive peach hue. For red circles, apply the Lemonade clay eyeshadow, which has a straw hue, under the eye. Apply with a brush, lightly dabbing small amounts onto a light moisturizer base. Finally, neutralize the corrective eyeshadow with a highlighting foundation in a shade one shade lighter than the rest of your face.
How to prevent foundation from curdling?
Foundation separation—not just mineral foundation—is a real nightmare for all makeup lovers. There are several possible causes for unsightly foundation separation on the skin, but fortunately, there are remedies.
Ensure proper skincare. Unfortunately, the condition of your skin and your current skincare routine are often the culprits. No foundation will last on skin that isn't cleansed of dry patches and isn't properly moisturized. Therefore, remember to regularly exfoliate and moisturize before applying makeup. Thoroughly remove your makeup every evening using a method appropriate for your skin type. Unremoved makeup can lead to worsening skin condition.
If your skin is very oily, sebum may be responsible for the sebum formation in your mineral foundation. In this case, choose a foundation with a mattifying formula and use Pretty Neutral clay primer . Applied in a thin layer before foundation, it creates an additional barrier against sebum. It will also prolong the matte effect, smooth the skin's surface, and fill in enlarged pores to prevent the foundation from further emphasizing them.
Application is equally important. Apply mineral foundation in thin layers to give it a chance to blend with the skin. A thick layer will migrate into the skin's creases and collect in specific areas, leading to spots and unevenness.
Finally, don't forget to set your foundation. You can do this in a few ways:
- dry with a mattifying finishing powder, e.g. Pretty Matt powder;
- wet, with a moistened cotton pad;
- wet, using a moisturizing mist.
4. Mineral cosmetics and skin types
How to use mineral makeup on dry skin?
Those with dry skin don't have to give up the benefits of mineral makeup. Simply apply foundation using the right technique to enjoy a natural look.
and skin health.
Properly preparing your skin for mineral makeup is crucial, especially if your skin tends to dry out. Avoid harsh cleansers, which can exacerbate the feeling of tightness and dryness. Use gentle cleansing milks to cleanse your skin, dissolve makeup with an oil, or use a gentle cleansing bar with a neutral pH. Remember to exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells. Never skip applying a moisturizer. To enhance the moisturizing properties of your cream, add a drop of a natural oil, such as the multi-purpose Stay Essential oil . Remember that makeup only looks its best on moisturized and softened skin.
Change your mineral foundation application technique. Avoid strong, forceful movements during application. Switch to a Softie L makeup sponge . Applying foundation with a damp sponge helps the foundation blend better with the skin and minimizes the appearance of dry patches and imperfections.
How to use mineral foundation for problematic skin?
Mineral makeup is the best choice for those struggling with visible skin blemishes. It not only conceals but also looks natural and supports the skin's regenerative processes. Of course, for problematic skin, proper treatment is paramount, but makeup can also help us feel more confident in our own skin. People with visible and persistent imperfections should ensure their makeup is light, reflective, and distracts from the blemishes. After all, we don't want to burden the skin with excessive camouflage, but rather subtly conceal imperfections.
Start by properly preparing your skin. Before applying makeup, use a light cream with UV filters to protect sensitive skin from sun exposure. Before applying foundation, apply a thin layer of Pretty Neutral clay primer to your skin – it will fill in pores, smooth skin texture, and extend the wear of your makeup. This trick will prevent the foundation from overly emphasizing imperfections and uneven skin tone. Apply mineral foundation in thin layers, lightly blending it into the skin. If necessary, conceal more stubborn imperfections with a high-coverage mineral concealer.
How to use mineral cosmetics for oily skin?
Mineral cosmetics, thanks to their loose, oil-free consistency, are ideal for those struggling with excessive sebum production. We especially recommend mineral foundation with a mattifying formula, which, thanks to its increased zinc oxide content, has antibacterial, absorbent, and sebaceous gland-regulating properties.
Gone are the days when the belief persisted that oily and greasy skin needed to be dried out. Absolutely don't do this! Avoid all skincare products containing drying ingredients, such as alcohol. Remember to cleanse gently, regularly exfoliate dead skin cells, and moisturize properly. Drinking enough water is also crucial. Hydration from the inside yields better results and is essential for the proper functioning of not only the sebaceous glands but the entire body.
Before applying mineral foundation, use Pretty Neutral clay primer, which creates an additional insulating layer and absorbs excess sebum. Lightly massage the primer into the skin, then apply a mattifying mineral foundation in very thin layers.
Finally, finish your makeup with a natural mattifying powder (e.g., Pretty Matte), which will prime your foundation and help it last longer. Remember to carry blotting papers with you to help combat shine throughout the day. You can make them at home from sandwich wrap.

How to care for makeup accessories?
Annabelle Minerals makeup brushes and sponges are made of durable materials, making them easy to clean and maintain. However, remember to clean your makeup tools regularly: brushes at least once a week and sponges after every use. How should you clean your makeup tools to ensure they last a long time? Here are a few tips:
- To wash, use a gentle baby shampoo or dish soap. Pour a small amount of the cleanser into the palm of your hand and rub the water-dampened bristles over the detergent in circular motions;
