Everyone makes a makeup mistake every now and then. It's definitely happened to me, and I think it's happened to you too. Foundation that's too dark, mascara that's crumbled, or lipstick on your teeth are just a few examples. How can you avoid them? First, remember to properly care for your skin before you start applying makeup. Cleanse it of impurities and apply a moisturizer that's appropriate for your skin type. Smooth and moisturized skin will make your foundation look better and won't accentuate dry patches and wrinkles.
Foundation too dark
Choosing the right foundation color can be really difficult, and I'm aware of that. Remember, you can't match the shade to the skin on the back of your hand. That's simply impossible. Hands usually differ from your neck, décolletage, and face. They can be more tanned or paler. Therefore, always choose foundation by applying it, for example, to your jawline or neck—in an area where you don't already have makeup on. Choose two or three colors that you think will work well and apply them side by side. This test will allow you to determine which foundation shade best suits your complexion. If you're unsure, ask a consultant—they'll surely advise you. Some foundations can oxidize. I know several such products, and their darkening on the skin should be taken into account when choosing the right shade. You need to wait a while for the foundation to oxidize, and then you can determine whether the shade is right or too dark. Ideally, you should choose the right foundation without makeup. Then you can apply foundation to your entire face yourself or ask a consultant to do it for you. You can choose a foundation at the drugstore, but you can also go out in the sun and see if a given shade really suits you. It's simple, but it does require some preparation.
Fallen ink
There are several reasons why mascara flakes, but it's easy to fix. The first reason may be that the mascara is approaching its expiration date. A dry formula won't adhere to the lashes, and the product will flake. Remember to replace your mascara every six months or so. This will prevent not only flaking but also eye irritation. Six months is optimal, but always check the packaging for the manufacturer's expiration date after opening. Another issue is improper eye makeup preparation. Do you ever get micellar water or cream on your lashes? The active ingredients in these products can shorten the life of eye makeup, including mascara. Before applying mascara, make sure your lashes are clean and dry. What should you do if mascara gets on your upper eyelid? If you get mascara on your eyelid while applying mascara, don't panic and don't wipe off all your eye makeup at once. Wait a few minutes for the mascara to dry, then gently remove it with a dry cotton swab. It will come off easily and without damaging your eyeshadow makeup.
Rolled eye shadows
The durability of eyeshadow depends on what you apply it to. Do you have an eyeshadow primer? No? Instead, use concealer. Eyeshadow needs something to adhere to; then it will last until you remove your makeup and won't roll in your crease. You can also choose waterproof cream or pencil eyeshadows, which set on the eyelid for a long-lasting effect. An eyeshadow primer improves the adhesion of eyeshadows, extends their wear, and enhances the pigmentation of each color. The selection of primers is huge, with the cheapest ones starting at just a few zlotys. Try it!
Lipstick on teeth
You're rushing off to work this morning, and you've decided to wear a bold lipstick. You notice people staring at your lips when you talk and smile. You're a little confused, but maybe they like the lipstick color? You go to the bathroom, look, and think—what a disaster! Lipstick on your teeth. There are two simple ways to prevent this. The first is to remember to blot excess lipstick on a tissue, which will further extend its wear. The second, a bit more unusual, is to put your finger in your mouth and wipe off any excess lipstick from the center of your lips. I guarantee you, it won't get on your teeth.
Lipstick can also bleed beyond the lip line, which also doesn't look good. Simply use a lip liner, and your lipstick will stay put all day. You don't have to have lip liners in every lipstick color; you can buy lip liner that matches any lipstick, whether neutral or bold fuchsia. It's also worth noting that the natural look and final makeup result also depend on the number of products you apply. Apply a thin layer of foundation all over your face, adding it only to areas where you need more coverage, or cover imperfections with concealer. This will avoid a mask-like effect. The same goes for applying blush and bronzer; it's easiest to build the effect by adding foundation rather than struggling to blend it. It's worth knowing how to deal with makeup mishaps.
