Does the thought of Monday make you lose your good mood on Sunday? Don't worry, you're not alone. Many people struggle with the start of the week, but there are a few proven ways to make returning to your daily routine after the weekend more enjoyable. In today's article, we'll try to convince you that Mondays can actually be enjoyable.
Plan time for pleasure
No matter how many responsibilities you have during the day, set aside even fifteen minutes in your schedule just for yourself. You'll instantly regain your energy, feel better, relax, and have the strength to tackle your next responsibilities. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. A cup of your favorite tea, a chapter of an engaging book, or a quick at-home spa treatment like a face mask will suffice. Relaxed, you'll instantly gain more energy, and the coming weeks won't be too scary.
Get some sleep
It's sometimes hard to fall asleep on Sundays because we tend to wake up a bit later on the weekend. However, make sure you go to bed early enough and get about eight hours of sleep. A lack of sleep will not only reduce your strength, energy, and creative ideas, but it will also worsen your mood and increase your cravings for unhealthy snacks. It would be a shame to start the week with a sour face over such a trivial matter, right?
Organize your day well in advance
If you have to tackle a less-than-pleasant task on Monday, do it first thing in the morning. You'll then have the wonderful knowledge that the worst is behind you. If you postpone unwanted responsibilities, you won't be able to free yourself from thinking about them; they'll weigh heavily on your mind, causing frustration. So gather all your strength and get to work on Monday morning. The pride in yourself and the opportunity to indulge in pleasure later are truly worth it.
Get up ten minutes earlier than usual
Monday mornings aren't exactly pleasant. Especially now, as the days are getting shorter, it's hard to leave a warm bed at 6 or 7 a.m. However, it's worth getting up ten minutes earlier than rushing around the house, rushing through breakfast. On Sunday evening, pack a bag, prepare your clothes, and prepare your meal ingredients. This will allow you to prepare for work in peace and find time for small pleasures, such as enjoying your morning coffee or tea in peace.
Take care of yourself this weekend
Saturday and Sunday are perfect days for regeneration, rest, and gaining perspective on certain matters. So don't skimp on the fun – cook something delicious, read a book, meet up with friends, or go for a long walk. Relaxed, you'll be in a better mood, with more energy and willingness to act, and Monday will instantly feel much better!
Get ready accordingly
The right attitude has a significant impact on how our day unfolds. If we constantly complain and see everything in dark colors, it's hard to find a good mood, even on Thursday evening. Try to see the positives in every situation. When you wake up on Monday, say aloud to yourself, "Hey, this is going to be a good week. I'm glad I have the chance to survive it, take action, and implement my plans." It's all a matter of perspective, after all.
As you can see, it doesn't take much. The key is a positive attitude, small changes to your daily routine, and celebrating small pleasures. Then, even the worst Monday can be made more enjoyable. Give it a try; it costs nothing.
