How to get up earlier?

Jak wstawać wcześniej?

Does getting up in the morning seem like an unpleasant chore to you? Do you change your watch every morning and tell yourself, "Five more minutes"? That's completely normal. Most of us love spending evenings in front of the computer, catching up on books, movies, or socializing. Few people consciously wake up at dawn with a full energy to act. However, this can be changed! In the following post, you'll learn how to take small steps to get up earlier, transform from an owl to a lark, and start each day positively.

Opt out of the snooze function

An extra five minutes in bed won't make you feel rested; on the contrary, such wake-up calls make you even more lazy and can ultimately lead to lateness. Let the first sound of your alarm be your cue to get out of bed and start a new, positive day. Of course, you don't have to jump to your feet; give yourself a moment, but work on not setting your alarm later.

Place the alarm clock away from the bed

If you have trouble getting up in the morning, it's best not to leave your alarm clock within reach. There's a high probability that after waking up, you'll still be half-awake and go back to sleep. Place it as far away as possible, somewhere you'll have to walk a few steps to get to. And if that doesn't work, hide it under your clothes, in your purse, or in your jacket pocket. Morning searches are excellent for brain training and are a great way to wake up. Once you've turned off the alarm, you won't want to go back to bed.

Develop a daily rhythm

Work on your personal circadian rhythm. Try to wake up and go to sleep at similar times. If you maintain consistent times, regardless of the day of the week or your workload, it will be easier to stick to good habits, not just those related to getting up in the morning. You'll have more energy, less urge to snack, and you'll become more organized, and tasks on your "to-do" list will start to tick themselves off.

Avoid distractions in the evening

Instead of wasting time scrolling through social media and staring at your computer or TV screen in the evening, pick up a book or treat yourself to a home spa. Unfortunately, the radiation and light emitted by electronic devices have a stimulating effect and don't help you relax. They also worsen the quality of your sleep, and the later you fall asleep, the harder it will be to wake up.

Make your bed immediately after waking up

Warm, comfortable bedding tempts everyone. Burrowing into it is a pleasure, after all, so after getting out of bed, make it and don't let it break you. Also, try not to crawl back under the covers with your laptop and try to work in the bedroom. It's more than likely that after a while, you'll decide it's time for a nap, and work won't go away. Treat your bed as a place for rest at night; don't let it exist during the day.

Open the blinds and the window

Wake up, get up, and let the sun and fresh air into your bedroom in the morning. Open the blinds or shades and crack a window. The fresh breeze combined with the bright morning view will instantly put you on your feet and wake you up more than a cup of aromatic coffee. If it's exceptionally warm, you can leave the window open all night—the lower temperature will improve your sleep quality and make waking up easier.

Have an action plan ready

When you have a plan and a written to-do list, getting up is immediately easier. So, take a moment each evening to pre-organize your day. Also, remember to schedule at least one small pleasure for yourself in the morning. Then you'll be much more willing to get out of bed. It could be five minutes with a book, a conversation with a friend, or a delicious breakfast. These small joys can set a positive mood for the entire day.

Don't stay in your pajamas

Make it a morning habit to not only make your bed and shower right after waking up, but also change into comfortable clothes. It can even be a warm sweatsuit, but pajamas must stay in bed, even the nicest ones. After all, they're sleepwear, so staying in them during the day makes you lazy and certainly not conducive to productivity. Happy waking up at the crack of dawn!
