How to motivate yourself to exercise at home?

Jak zmotywować się do ćwiczeń w domu?

Spring is fast approaching! It's the final call to get in on the bikini action and shed those unwanted winter weight. Easier said than done, though, isn't it? Especially when, due to a lack of time, exercising at home is your only option. Sometimes it's really hard to find the energy and desire to workout, but don't worry, in the rest of this post we'll show you how to find motivation and make regular physical activity a pleasure.

Set a goal and visualize the results

Your goal is your priority. You need to know why you want to exercise and realize what regular workouts will bring you. Do you dream of getting rid of your belly fat? Want a flat stomach or to fit into your old jeans? Focus on what you want and visualize the results regularly. Pull those too-small jeans out of the closet and put them in a visible place. Motivational graphics on your fridge can also be helpful. Every time you open it, you'll remind yourself that you're getting closer to the finish line and there's no point in sinning. ;)

Plan your workouts

With the pressures of daily life, it's sometimes hard to be spontaneous. A set plan is definitely better. We all know that for workouts to be effective, they must be performed regularly. Planning them in advance, for example, on a weekly schedule, will help us maintain consistency and make it easier to find time not only for exercise but also for preparation and recovery immediately afterward. Also, remember not to do anything against your will – if you like to exercise in the evening, don't force yourself to workout in the morning, as you'll quickly lose the desire.

Dose the changes

Initially, it's worth considering activity three times a week, no more often. Throwing yourself into the deep end quickly discourages you and promotes injury and fatigue. Don't try everything at once – if you start a strict diet and grueling workouts simultaneously, you'll burn out quickly. Remember, lifestyle change is an ongoing process, so give yourself time and set yourself up for a slow revolution.

Go sports shopping

At home, you can exercise even in an old, torn tracksuit, but in nice clothes, physical activity is simply more enjoyable. Especially since sportswear is so colorful these days, it's a pleasure to look at yourself in the mirror. You don't have to go crazy and spend a fortune. A brightly colored T-shirt or shorts with a fun pattern will suffice for starters. After such purchases, you'll want to roll out your mat right away!

Find your favorite activity

Don't be afraid to experiment. Don't focus on what's currently trendy, but find your ideal workout. If you explore various forms of exercise, you're sure to find one that fully satisfies you. The same goes for a virtual trainer – there are now tons of interesting fitness channels online, led by people from all over the world. So find your number one go-to, one that regularly motivates you. Then you'll stop thinking of exercise as an unpleasant chore and start calling it a pleasure.

Reward yourself!

Nothing motivates like a reward. Dreaming of a new dress? Do you keep dreaming of a spa weekend? Promise yourself that when you achieve your goal, you'll fulfill one of your dreams and reward yourself for all the hard work you've put into your body. These don't have to be big gifts. Small pleasures that you never have time for are also important. Sometimes a coffee with a friend is more enjoyable than a three-day trip. :)

Find an exercise buddy

It's more fun in a group, so ask your friends if they're struggling with weight loss too. You can always arrange a group workout or use Skype. ;) These days, even distance isn't a problem; you just need the will. Such online workouts can be very motivating and a bit fun, too. A huge dose of endorphins guaranteed!

Monitor the effects

Take photos of yourself before you start exercising and update them every few weeks. The results will quickly surprise you! Skip the daily weigh-ins and invest in a tape measure instead. Regular workouts may initially cause weight gain, but with regular measurements, you'll quickly realize your body is changing for the better and your waistlines are shrinking.

Finally, and most importantly, remember, you're fighting for yourself, so take action and never give up. Your goal is worth it, you are worth it! Good luck!
