Many women are captivated by Asian skincare. It's no wonder that Korean women's beauty secrets evoke so much positive emotion – their methods for beautiful skin actually work and deliver spectacular results. That's why today we're presenting a proven Korean skincare ritual in ten steps!
Makeup removal and cleansing oil
The first step is a preliminary facial cleanse. First, remove eye and lip makeup with a gentle makeup remover. Place a damp cotton pad on the pad for a few seconds and wait for the makeup to dissolve. Be sure not to rub or pull the skin. Then, apply the cleansing oil. Apply it to your face with your hands, massaging gently and thoroughly. The oily consistency will dissolve all dirt and impurities. Those with oily skin can also use the oil, but don't worry, it won't clog pores, as it will be washed away shortly.
Water-based cleansing cosmetic
Korean women, unlike Europeans, cleanse their skin twice. Immediately after using a cleansing oil, it's time to apply a water-based product. These are usually light foams or emulsions that begin to foam upon contact with water. Only after this cleansing process is the face truly free of impurities.
Exfoliating scrub
Exfoliation isn't a daily step. However, it's worth doing at least once a week. This product will help remove and exfoliate dead skin, unclog pores, and cleanse and refresh the complexion. Those with normal to oily skin can use a mechanical exfoliator – either fine-grained or coarse-grained. For sensitive and dry skin, an enzymatic exfoliator is a better option.
Toning
Toning is a crucial step in skincare, one that's unfortunately often overlooked. Korean women know that toner restores the skin's proper pH, removes residual impurities, and prepares it for other skincare products. When choosing the right toner, it's important to make sure it's alcohol-free. Alcohol can dry out and irritate the skin. Therefore, it's definitely better to choose a moisturizing toner than a mattifying one.
Nourishing essence
The most important element of the entire Korean beauty ritual, it's not yet widely used in our country. This essence supports the cellular processes that occur in our skin, wonderfully nourishing, moisturizing, brightening, and aiding the absorption of cosmetics we use in subsequent stages of our skincare routine. According to Asian women, it has only benefits, which is why they never skip its application.
Serum or concentrate
Serums, also known as concentrates or ampoules, are cosmetics that are slightly thicker than essences. They are used to target specific skin concerns – they help combat premature aging, reduce wrinkles, brighten discolorations and scars, minimize inflammation, and hydrate the skin.
Sheet mask
A brilliant invention! A sheet mask is nothing more than a special fabric infused with active ingredients, tailored to the shape of our face. This allows the skin to absorb significantly more nutrients than a traditional mask. These types of masks are usually highly saturated with essence, which, once removed from the fabric, remains in the sachet. Remember not to throw it away, but to put it to good use. You can pat it into the skin and treat it as a serum. There are plenty of sheet masks to choose from on the market today. They are tailored to different skin needs and concerns, so every woman is sure to find the perfect one for her. It's worth setting aside fifteen minutes twice a week for this stage of your skincare routine.
Eye cream
The skin around the eyes is very thin and delicate, and it ages the fastest, so an eye cream is a must-have in daily skincare. Using it will give you a youthful, beautifully moisturized, fresh, and wrinkle-free appearance.
Facial moisturizing
One of the most important steps in skincare, especially in the evening. Face cream is considered the richest and thickest of all cosmetics, so its application is recommended last. Of course, we always reach for a cream tailored to our skin's needs. However, Asian women replace it with a nourishing overnight mask at least once a week.
Emulsion with SPF filter
Korean women are very careful not to expose their faces to the sun. Therefore, one of the most important steps in their morning skincare routine is applying an SPF sunscreen. The higher the SPF, the better. Korean women believe this product should be applied every few hours, even when indoors. Sitting near a window is enough to expose our skin to the sun's harmful rays. The same applies to cloudy skies. It's worth remembering this if we want to enjoy young, healthy skin for as long as possible.
In conclusion, there's no doubt that Korean women are role models when it comes to beauty care. They're living proof that proper skincare is far more important than makeup, and that healthy, well-groomed skin is the perfect canvas for any further makeup. It's worth considering Korean rituals and implementing at least some of them.
