Mineral cosmetics can certainly work well on mature skin. The key, of course, is the right makeup base, proper application of mineral powders, choosing the right formula, and finishing the makeup. It's not true that loose formulas are doomed to failure on mature skin – they can look incredibly beautiful, providing a luminous and smooth finish.
Makeup for a mature woman is, in my personal opinion, the greatest test for a makeup artist. I understand the challenges women over 40 face. Every detail of the makeup must be meticulously crafted – exceptionally neat, from the perfect application of products to the precise blending, color selection, and overall aesthetic. Mature skin sags with age and loses its natural radiance, so for makeup to look natural, it must perfectly complement a woman's skin type and complexion. In the case of Ewa, our model, I focused primarily on simplicity: illumination, a literal radiance to the face, subtle definition of features, and definition of the eyelid. The makeup subtly reflects light, the blending is subtle, and the colors are perfectly matched to her complexion.
After applying Soft Cream moisturizer enriched with a drop of Stay Essential oil, I apply Pretty Glow highlighting powder to my T-zone with a small brush. This helps soften my features, minimize the appearance of pores, and smooth out my foundation. Next, I apply Annabelle Minerals Illuminating Mineral Foundation (Golden Fair) using a kabuki brush. Blending the foundation takes me the most time. I use gentle, circular motions, then use a small, rounded synthetic brush to apply and blend the same foundation locally where hyperpigmentation is present and the skin needs an extra layer of product. Finally, I apply Pretty Glow highlighting powder again with a small brush. This powder subtly reflects light and provides a great finishing touch. I highlight the high points of my cheekbones with Peach Glow highlighting blush.

I also gently highlight my cheekbones and forehead, and gently touch up my jaw with bronzer. I achieve the perfect shade by mixing Annabelle Minerals mineral foundation in the shade Golden Dark with the blush in the shade Nude. This creates a cooler, less brown, and more natural tan.
I define my eyebrows with the middle shade from the Brow Like Wow eyebrow palette. I then apply the rejuvenating clay eyeshadow in Margarita all over my eyelid.

I apply lip gloss to my lips, which creates a shimmering, wet finish. Our mature model's makeup is complete. I hope none of you will be afraid of loose cosmetics. Applying them requires some practice, but it's not impossible. I encourage all mature women to experience for themselves how delicate yet mattifying mineral makeup can be.
