Annabelle Minerals offers three finishes (in addition to the illuminating formula, also covering and mattifying , which you could read about in the first part of the foundation compendium) and within them four color ranges: the Sunny range (has four lightness levels: Cream, Fairest, Fair, Light), the Golden, Natural, and Beige ranges (each range has six levels: Cream, Fairest, Fair, Light, Medium, and Dark). That's a total of 66 shades! After defining our expectations and recognizing our skin's characteristics, choosing a foundation will be just a formality.

You can learn how to do this from the article:

Who is the illuminating formula for?

The illuminating version of Annabelle Minerals mineral foundation should delight fans of an even complexion and a wow-glow effect. It promises radiant, rested, and even-toned skin. The illuminating foundation is also a good choice for those fortunate enough to have problem-free skin.

If your skin doesn't need strong coverage or matte finish, and you prefer light and luminous makeup every day, an illuminating formula is worth considering when choosing a foundation.

Why is the illuminating formula recommended for normal skin, not excessively oily and without very visible imperfections?

It provides medium coverage, suitable for evening out skin tone—slight discoloration or redness—and has a satin finish. The mineral composition is a key advantage of every Annabelle Minerals mineral foundation, so for any surprises that may appear on our faces on certain days of the month, the foundation's natural ingredients help smooth out imperfections and regulate sebum production.

What is behind the unique nourishing properties of the illuminating foundation?

Just four ingredients: *illuminating mica, *mattifying zinc oxide, *titanium dioxide (responsible for UVA/UVB protection with an SPF of 20), and *tinting iron oxide. They provide safe, long-lasting makeup that improves both your appearance and well-being.

Are there visible particles in the illuminating foundation?

The illuminating formula of Annabelle Minerals foundations contains luminous mica, milled so finely that it's almost invisible unless you look very closely. This precise milling gives the foundation a healthy glow without making your face look like a disco ball after application. The illuminating effect is elegant and subtle, evoking a well-rested and well-groomed complexion.

A delicate, illuminating formula, caring ingredients, and pleasant consistency are half the battle. The other half is the application method – it's simple, but as with any cosmetic, it's worth following certain rules that will make application easier and faster, extend its durability, and, in the case of the illuminating variant, bring out the foundation's hidden potential.

Does the illuminating foundation have additional makeup functions?

Yes, it can be used as a light under-eye concealer that will not only cover fine veins and dark circles, but will also brighten the eyes and make us look more rested.

How to prepare your skin for applying a mineral illuminating foundation?

The best base for mineral foundation is a well-cared-for complexion. It's worth remembering to exfoliate, tone, and moisturize regularly—this is the absolute foundation of any makeup routine.

When it comes to preparing your skin for mineral foundation, there's no single method that works for everyone. Some skin types will benefit from a light moisturizer, others might find a mattifying cream suitable as a foundation, while others might simply need to wipe their face with a reusable cotton pad soaked in a moisturizing toner. It's crucial that the product used immediately before applying foundation isn't heavy and greasy. If it is, the foundation will quickly harden, lose its longevity, settle into pores, and create unsightly streaks.

When it comes to illuminating foundation, to intensify the luminous effect, you can try preparing a cream with similar properties – just add a little Diamond Glow highlighter to Soft Cream. A super glow effect is guaranteed! :) However, if you're looking for a subtle effect, a traditional moisturizer will suffice. To take care of any shine in the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), you can lightly powder the area with Pretty Matt powder or apply Pretty Neutral primer under your makeup.

How and with what to apply mineral foundation in a brightening formula?

When it comes to illuminating foundation, you can rightly expect two things: a radiant, satin finish and medium coverage that can cover minor redness or imperfections. How can you achieve this effect on your skin? Primarily, you can use a kabuki brush with rounded bristles. However, if you're looking for a more intense pigmentation, you can achieve it with a flat-top brush (with slanted bristles) or Softies sponges. Pre-moistened sponges will not only increase coverage but also enhance the illuminating effect.

Applying illuminating foundation step by step:

  1. Sprinkle a little powder onto the lid of the jar.
  2. Gently place your chosen brush or sponge on the surface of the cosmetic.
  3. Tap off any excess on the back of your hand or the edge of the lid.
  4. Spread a thin layer of powder over your face in circular motions or pat it in with a stamping motion, directing the brush from the inner parts of your face towards the outer parts, which will ensure even application and no unevenness.
  5. Remember to apply the foundation beyond the jawline, towards the neck.
  6. If you find that the coverage is too light, repeat the process until you achieve the desired effect.

Mineral foundation can be applied dry or wet by lightly misting the brush bristles with thermal water or mineral water. Wetting the brush or sponge will make the shimmering finish more visible.

How to enhance the illuminating effect on the skin?

In addition to using Softies sponges or brushes with damp bristles, it's worth reaching for Pretty Glow powder to intensify the satin finish. It will give your complexion an extra dose of radiance and make tired, dull skin look rested and relaxed.
