Multimasking. What is it and how is it performed?

Multimasking. Czym jest i jak wykonać taki zabieg?

Facial skincare isn't the easiest thing to do. It requires observation, knowledge, and providing your skin with what it truly needs.

The multi-masking trend addresses the different needs of different facial areas. It involves additional care, such as facial masks and the application of several different cosmetics to specific areas simultaneously. Skin requires careful care, and each of these areas may require different active ingredients to improve its condition.

The nose, chin, and center of the forehead are areas that often suffer from blackheads and other imperfections – a cleansing clay is perfect for this. Apply a moisturizing mask, such as one with aloe vera, shea butter, or hyaluronic acid, to dry cheeks. These ingredients will provide adequate hydration and smooth dry or rough skin. Multimasking addresses various needs and greatly simplifies combination skin care. See how simple it is and feel free to use these tips.

Know what type of skin you have and what its needs are

The basic classification is normal, dry, oily, and combination skin. The latter requires  More thorough care to restore skin balance. Each of these skin types may have additional issues and needs, for example, it may be couperose, acne-prone, sensitive, irritated, dehydrated, dry and rough, or have discoloration. If you already know your skin type, below you'll find tips on which areas of the face to apply the chosen mask to and what active ingredients to look for in facial skincare products.

Facial areas – what active ingredients are worth paying attention to?

Face masks come in a variety of properties and formulas. They can be cream, algae, peel-off, setting, or sheet masks. Choose your form and properties, and apply them to the desired areas of your face. Get to work!

The T-zone, or the center of the face—the forehead, nose, and chin. This area is prone to impurities, causing blackheads, subcutaneous cysts, lumps, and other imperfections. It's also where the most sebum is produced. Apply masks to this area that cleanse impurities and dead skin cells, and that are antibacterial and mattifying. Ingredients found in these masks include: green clay, white clay (kaolin), salicylic acid, fruit acids, zinc, sulfur, and tea tree oil.

The cheeks and sides of the face are often dry, sometimes with slight flaking (so-called dry cuticles). Broken capillaries, also known as spider veins, often appear on the cheeks. It's important to ensure your skin is well-hydrated and strengthens blood vessels. Look for moisturizing and nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, urea, butters and oils, and glycerin. To soothe redness and seal blood vessels, take advantage of ingredients like horse chestnut, arnica, vitamin C, panthenol, and aloe.

The eye area also requires care. Skin ages most rapidly here, so it requires special attention. The ingredients that should be included in such eye masks are similar to those used in products for dry and sensitive skin. Additionally, ingredients that reduce puffiness and dark circles are excellent, such as green tea extract, horse chestnut, arnica, and eyebright. Eye masks often have a creamy formula or come in the form of collagen or cotton pads impregnated with active ingredients.

When caring for your face, don't forget about your neck. It's worth taking care of its condition before signs of aging, wrinkles, and loss of firmness and elasticity appear. Moisturizing is enough for young skin. As you age, reach for elasticizing and lifting products.

Multimasking also applies to the lips. Lip masks are typically offered in the form of gel sheets that have firming and moisturizing properties.

Multimasking offers many possibilities. You can experiment on your own or use ready-made solutions. More and more brands are offering this treatment, introducing multimasking masks to their offerings. Be sure to try it out!
