Ways to use mineral cosmetics part 3

Sposoby wykorzystania kosmetyków mineralnych cz. 3

This is the third installment of our series on alternative uses for mineral cosmetics. Simple, undemanding, yet incredibly inventive ways to repurpose powder cosmetics allow you to create new, unique formulas. Furthermore, they don't require a large financial outlay and are safe for your skin, eyes, and lips.

Pressed mineral eyeshadows

To make pressed eyeshadows, you'll need alcohol over 70% and eyeshadow compacts. For a creamier and more delicate finish, add a bit of squalane and vegetable glycerin. Magnesium stearate will increase the formula's adhesion. For slightly damp eyeshadows, add a little alcohol, place them in the compacts, and allow the alcohol to evaporate. Once the eyeshadows start to dry, press them firmly – this will improve their pigmentation and saturated color.

Illuminating eye powder

To create a brightening eye powder, mix equal parts Pretty Glow powder with your mineral foundation. If you have fair skin, you can use the Vanilla shade instead of mineral foundation.

Colored mascara

The safest way to make mascara is with a pharmacy-grade emulsion for moisturizing the skin. It's also worth adding  Castor oil and vegetable glycerin. Add a small amount of natural oil and glycerin to the emulsion (you can skip them if the formula is runny and greasy) and mix with your chosen mineral eyeshadow.

A quicker method is to mix oily white body paint with your chosen eyeshadow and apply it to your eyelashes. This is especially effective for occasional makeup looks.

Mineral, tinted eyebrow gel

To make the gel, you'll need natural flaxseed gel (prepare it by boiling 2 tablespoons of flaxseed in a glass of water for about 15 minutes after it boils), glycerin, vegetable oil, and mineral oil. Once the flaxseed gel has cooled, add a little glycerin and a drop of natural oil. After mixing the mixture, add the mineral oil of your choice. You can also use hair gel instead of flaxseed gel.
