Christmas cleaning in the cosmetics bag

Świąteczne porządki w kosmetyczce

The pre-holiday period is the perfect time for decluttering. We sort through cupboards, throw away unnecessary items, and get rid of clothes we've long forgotten we even had. But what about our cosmetics? Do we manage to keep them as organized as we do our wardrobes? Below are some valuable tips for taming and organizing our colorful, liquid, and powder cosmetics and accessories.

Containers, containers

Cotton pads are an essential item in every bathroom. It's not worth hiding them in a cabinet, as you'll quickly discover that constantly taking them out and putting them back in is quite a hassle. Therefore, it's worth having them always on hand. Unfortunately, the packaging isn't very decorative or aesthetically pleasing, so it doesn't look its best when hanging in plain sight. So how can you reconcile these two aspects and ensure that cotton pads are always within reach and their packaging becomes a decorative element in your bathroom? The simplest solution is glass or plastic containers with lids. With a little imagination, you can also use a container, such as a candle container or a jar. If you want a colorful container that will certainly liven up your bathroom decor, you can choose your favorite color or paint the one you already have. Such a container can be placed on a cabinet, washing machine, or sink. It won't be in the way and will certainly become a decorative element in your bathroom. Why is it important for a container to have a lid? If only to ensure our cotton pads don't absorb moisture and are always ready for use. If we're traveling or want to always have pads with us, it's worth packing a few in zip-lock bags.

We can also store all our samples and testers in these containers. Who doesn't love receiving little freebies? However, when we try to use them a few days later, they've disappeared. We can clip masks or creams together with a clothespin and keep them in one place. Perfume samples, like cotton pads, can be stored in a jar to await their turn.

All brushes at hand

Powder brush, blush brush, eyeshadow brush, lipstick brush: yes, each one is necessary and each one is in the wrong place.  It should be there when you need it. The best way to gather all your brushes together is... a jar or a glass. These containers don't seem attractive on their own, but we can decorate them in ways only we know how! Paint them, wrap them in colored paper, sprinkle them with glitter. For example, we can half-fill our container with coffee beans so that the brushes stand firm. The solutions are endless, and the effect will be spectacular and certainly original. We can also use a stiff sponge for sorting. By cutting appropriately sized holes in it, we can line up the brushes and pull them out one by one as needed. We can also tame mascaras in the same way.

How not to spill or scatter

Colored, loose, and liquid cosmetics are probably the most problematic. Storing them can be quite a challenge. Since creams and foundations prefer room temperature (unless the manufacturer recommends otherwise on the packaging), it's not advisable to store them in the bathroom, as it can be too warm and humid. It's worth investing in a vanity that you can place in the room. Furthermore, the vanity has drawers where you can organize your cosmetics so that when reaching for one, you don't bump into another, which often ends in disaster.

Foundations and foundations should be chosen in pump or dispenser packaging. This will prevent spillage, which can occur if the cap falls off or the lid comes loose. Once this happens, transfer the product to a new container. It's best to buy loose powders and eyeshadows in screw-on containers. This will also prevent the product from accidentally opening in your purse. Annabelle Minerals cosmetics are an excellent solution; in addition to their mineral-rich properties for the skin, they are available in screw-on packaging.

Checking expiration dates is also key to organizing your cosmetics bag.  Expired products can do more harm than good. Therefore, it's important to be mindful of this and dispose of cosmetics that have passed their expiration date.
