We all certainly have our own morning rituals that set a positive tone for the day. But what about our evening routines? Are we also taking certain steps to ensure better sleep, healthy skin, and flawless hair? It's worth making a few changes that will further support our morning habits and, in turn, improve our well-being.
Tying your hair up at night
It's actually worth tying your hair up, as loose hair rubs against the pillowcase, causing mechanical damage. However, keep in mind that tying it up too tightly can cause hair loss. Instead of resting, hair follicles are weakened. As a result, hair also becomes weaker, leading to excessive hair loss. At night, it's best to comb your hair back and create a loose braid. This will allow the follicles to rest on one side, while preventing the hair from rubbing against the pillowcase on the other.
Peaceful sleep
Evening is a good time to summarize the day – what we managed to accomplish and what we weren't able to tackle. It's important to approach this "examination of conscience" with kindness towards yourself. Don't punish yourself for not having enough time for something or not doing something as planned. Try to make a list, even a short one, of the things you managed to achieve, complete, or accomplish today. A positive attitude will ensure a peaceful and relaxing sleep. Racing thoughts and pangs of conscience will only contribute to insomnia. After a quick recap, congratulate yourself silently and wish for sweet dreams.
Makeup removal
Removing makeup from your face before bed is an absolute must! Throughout the day, tiny, invisible impurities cling to foundation and powder. As you can easily guess, this isn't healthy for your skin. Therefore, if you don't remove your makeup before bed, bacteria will only multiply, clogging your pores, and consequently, your skin won't breathe. This also accelerates the skin's aging process. Therefore, always remember to remove your makeup thoroughly. Gently and thoroughly cleanse your skin to ensure maximum comfort.
Moisturization
This is also a habit worth implementing. Daily moisturizing of both the face and body will ensure proper firmness and elasticity. Also, remember that your face cream should be much richer than your day cream. Why? Skin regenerates best at night and absorbs nutrients more effectively, allowing them to more easily penetrate the deeper layers of the epidermis.
Towels and bed linen
Washing and changing them frequently is essential. Pillowcases harbor dust mites and a host of invisible bacteria. Remember that you don't sleep in one position, and not only your hair but also your face comes into contact with the pillow. With this in mind, change your pillowcase once a week. The same goes for towels. You should change them every two weeks. Bacteria multiply at an alarming rate on damp fabric, so skincare is pointless if you wipe your face with a dirty towel. Wash both bed linen and towels at a minimum temperature of 60°C.
Good habits, both morning and evening, are key to well-being and a flawless appearance. It's worth implementing them as soon as possible. It doesn't require much effort, just consistency. Take care of yourself not only during the day but also during sleep.
