Treatments worth doing in winter

Zabiegi, które warto wykonać zimą

A visit to the beautician is pure pleasure. Masks and beauty treatments not only improve the condition of our skin but also have a beneficial effect on our well-being. Low temperatures and reduced solar radiation make it easier to perform certain treatments. Thanks to reduced exposure to UVA and UVB radiation, the risk of discoloration after aesthetic medicine procedures is much lower. If you're considering laser hair removal, mesotherapy, or photorejuvenation, it's worth visiting a beauty salon during this time.

Laser hair removal

This treatment is chosen by women who value comfort and long-lasting results. Currently, it's the most effective hair removal method. Beauty salons offer tempting offers, especially right before summer, but laser hair removal is one of those treatments that should be performed in winter. Hair removal uses a laser beam that penetrates deep into the skin, destroying the hair follicle and its roots without damaging the skin. The effectiveness of laser hair removal depends on two factors: skin color—the lighter the better—and hair color—the darker and stronger the hair, the better the results. To be fully effective, the treatment should be repeated at least 6-8 times, 8-10 weeks apart. Winter is the ideal time for this treatment, as the skin being treated should not be tanned. Furthermore, skin should not be exposed to sunlight for at least two weeks after the treatment.

Chemical peeling

It can quickly remove freckles, skin discoloration, and fine lines. The most popular chemical peels include glycolic, mandelic, and salicylic acid. After applying the peel, the epidermis peels for several days, revealing younger-looking skin. Both the effect and healing time depend on the concentration of the exfoliant and how long it is left on the skin. However, most often, the epidermis continues to peel for several days after the treatment. Winter, with its associated low temperatures, is a good time for this treatment. The only thing to watch out for is severe frosts, which can further irritate the skin.

Microdermabrasion

It's an excellent solution for those who prefer mechanical exfoliation over chemical exfoliation. The main goal of the treatment is smoothing, regenerating, and improving skin tone and elasticity. Diamond microdermabrasion is recommended for allergy sufferers and those with sensitive skin. The treatment involves removing dead skin cells using a diamond-crystal-coated head. Those with skin discoloration and enlarged pores should opt for corundum microdermabrasion, also known as powder microdermabrasion. This treatment involves abrading the epidermis and reaching deeper layers of the skin using aluminum hydroxide crystals ejected under high pressure.

Needle-free mesotherapy

It involves the use of a device that generates high-frequency electrical current, which penetrates the skin and also—through the cell membrane—into the cell. This opens new pathways for the introduction of active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin without the need for needles. After the treatment, the skin becomes smoother and healthier. Its internal "plumping" also ensures firmness and hydration from within. The face appears more rested, and fine wrinkles disappear.

Removal of skin moles

Everyone has skin moles. They result from a deficiency or excess of one of the tissue components. Fortunately, the vast majority of them do not require removal, but some moles and birthmarks can be dangerous. A doctor can remove moles using one of two methods: surgery or laser. If you choose laser, the lack of outdoor sun exposure will be beneficial, as you should protect your skin from sunlight after each treatment.

After the warmer months, when skin is still exposed to the sun, it's worth giving it a break and regenerating during winter. Wounds heal better in winter, swelling resulting from treatments is reduced, and the body recovers more quickly. Therefore, this time of year is the best time for an exfoliation treatment after intense sun exposure, or laser hair removal, which is performed on untanned skin.
