Stop time to maintain a healthy appearance for longer

Zatrzymaj czas, by zachować zdrowy wygląd na dłużej

Unfortunately, time marches on inexorably. Dermatological salons and studios specializing in aesthetic cosmetology are competing with each other with ever-increasing treatments to stop the signs of  The clock, even if only for a moment. Admittedly, these types of solutions aren't cheap, and not everyone can afford them. Fortunately, there are other ways to help, thanks to which your skin will remain firm for longer.

It's never too late

If you haven't paid much attention to the condition of your skin until now, it's high time to change that. Your skin begins—let's be honest—to age as early as your twenties, though this is, of course, invisible to the naked eye. This is when the first collagen fibers, responsible for its firmness and elasticity, begin to disappear, and the products you've been using may not be sufficient. This is a good time to consult a dermatologist. Your doctor will advise you on which cosmetics you should start using to maintain its vitality for longer.

Choose "mature" cosmetics

It's hard to part with cosmetics labeled 18+ and switch to those labeled 25+ or higher. However, believe me, it's necessary and healthier for your skin. Of course, choose cosmetics appropriate for your skin type – creamier ones for dry skin, free from greasy substances for skin prone to oiliness. Combination skin can cause more problems, so it's safest to consult a dermatologist. A specialist will be able to carefully select the right products for you.

It's crucial to protect your skin from the sun's rays. Always try to use a sunscreen with a UV filter. It doesn't have to be scorching hot to feel exposed to the sun's rays. They also penetrate through clouds and through windows. If the cosmetics you're using don't have a sunscreen, invest in a broad-spectrum product that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. This protective layer will protect your skin from excessive drying.

The skin on your body deserves similar hydration and protection – care for it as carefully as you do your face. Try massaging a body balm into your skin after every bath, which will firm the skin and provide adequate hydration. If balm isn't enough for you, opt for supplements that moisturize from the inside. They're the perfect complement to your cosmetics.

Removing dead skin cells is equally important in daily skincare. You should also choose a product appropriate for your skin type. Exfoliation will help restore your skin's radiance. For dry skin, gently exfoliate once a week. If you have oily skin, do this treatment twice a week. For acne-prone or sensitive skin, consult a dermatologist who will provide the most reliable advice. Some skincare products contain ingredients that help remove dead cells to reveal a brighter, fresher complexion. Acne products and so-called anti-aging creams may contain salicylic acid or retinoids. You can also seek help in removing dead skin cells from your skin, such as microdermabrasion or a chemical peel.

Youth hidden in vitamins

Your skin craves good nutrition just like the rest of your body. Some studies suggest that nutrients can improve skin condition and also have a protective effect. Creams and serums containing vitamins C or E can protect against sunburn. Those containing vitamins A or B3 may be able to soothe or even reverse sun-induced damage. Of course, you also need to get your vitamins from food – tomatoes, carrots, spinach, broccoli, peppers (especially red), citrus fruits, as well as currants and strawberries (even frozen) are particularly valuable. Of course, avoid all stimulants; they certainly won't help you slow down the passage of time or maintain vitality.

A healthy appearance and excellent skin condition will make you feel great every day. Of course, besides cosmetics and a proper diet, don't forget about exercise—preferably outdoors—as well as everyday pleasures, like a relaxing bath or an evening with friends. Indulge in these as often as possible and don't deprive yourself of joy. Your most beautiful adornment is your smile and your well-being.
