Find your perfect eyebrow shape

Znajdź swój idealny kształt brwi

Shaping your eyebrows is a real challenge. Unfortunately, sometimes we make mistakes when applying makeup, leaving them too short or, conversely, unnaturally long. Contrary to popular belief, there's no such thing as a perfect eyebrow shape that suits your face. Our faces change over the years, and simply put, it's a challenge to perfectly shape the eyebrows we already have. Below are a few simple tips that will help you achieve your ideal eyebrow shape and avoid makeup mishaps.

Determine the appropriate length

To determine exactly where your eyebrow should begin and end, you don't need to consult a beautician. A regular pencil, pencil, or thin brush will suffice to determine the length. Start by placing one end of your chosen object (let's say a pencil) against the outer edge of your nose and the other end against your forehead, intersecting the inner corner of your eye. This is where your eyebrow should begin. To create a neat arch, move the pencil, keeping one end at the outer edge of your nose, above your eye. Your eyebrow should begin to crease roughly at the center of your eye. By placing the other end of the pencil against the outer corner of your eye, you'll define the end of your eyebrow. This way, you've perfectly shaped your arch.

Give it the right look

Painted-on eyebrows—meaning eyebrows that are overly defined and poorly matched to facial features—are unfortunately a common mistake some of us make when applying makeup. Although natural, thick eyebrows are making a comeback, they don't always look good—it all depends on your personality type. Once you've defined the beginning and end of your eyebrows, stick to that exact length. A line that's too long or too short won't look good. Always start defining your eyebrows with a light eyebrow liner to define the exact shape. A light eyeshadow also works well for this. Importantly, start filling in your eyebrows from the lower arch, working your way through the middle, and then work your way up to the top, where the eyebrow begins. The perfect eyebrow shape is one that has a rectangular base at the front and ends in a triangle—that is, the eyebrow is significantly wider at the beginning, narrowing at the arch, and finally resembling an elongated cone. Of course, you need to remember to choose the right eyebrow pencil color so that your eyebrows aren't too light, but also don't become too noticeable. If you're unsure about the right shade for your eyeliner, do a color analysis . This will help you find out which colors suit you best. However, if you're still unsure about the right shade, ask a consultant at a drugstore or a beautician for help.

Remove unwanted hairs

By following the instructions above, you've created the perfect eyebrow line. If you see hairs above or below your eyebrow that need to be removed, do so. But remember the "less is more" rule. Sometimes removing a single hair can affect the final appearance of your eyebrows. So be careful. To check if any hairs are too long, comb your eyebrows upwards. If you see a hair sticking out above the others, simply trim it with nail scissors. Don't remove the hair, or you might find that your eyebrow has lost its shape.

Retouch

Retouching is a cosmetic matter that only finishes the job. If redness appears around your eyebrows due to plucking a few hairs, wait a moment for the skin to return to its natural color. If you don't have time, apply concealer sparingly. However, remember to apply a thin layer. Once the irritation subsides, the red patch will be replaced by a patch of concealer, something you probably want to avoid. A thin layer of concealer that gently covers the redness will look natural on the skin once it fades.

You've finally reached the end – you've found your perfect eyebrow shape. It's not a difficult task, but it definitely requires precision. It's worth the effort – it's not time-consuming, and even, properly contoured eyebrows will certainly look incomparably better than haphazardly drawn lines.
